Our Process
We take great care in planning each phase of any project we take on, no matter how big or small. To this end, if you commission us to build your new cabinets or furniture, we will guide you through this entire process.
We begin by getting to know your vision, needs, and expectations. During our initial consultation, we’ll visit your home or business to discuss your project, explore design options, and take measurements of your space.
Once we understand your vision, we’ll prepare a detailed estimate and design drawings to help you visualize the finished project. We can also provide wood and finish samples so you can see how your custom cabinetry or furniture will look before production begins.
Once you approve the design and estimate, we begin crafting your custom cabinetry or furniture in our workshop. We carefully select quality materials, cut and assemble each piece, and apply your chosen paint or wood stain finish. Every detail is handled with precision and care.
Once fabrication is complete, we carefully deliver and install your finished cabinetry or furniture. Our team pays close attention to every detail to ensure a precise fit and beautiful finish. Most installations take 1 to 2 days, depending on the size and complexity of the project.
Meet Shawn Hollenshead
_______
Shawn Hollenshead is a woodworker with a sensitive approach to design and artisanship. Passionate about the process of working with all species of wood, he has a reverence for the natural beauty of trees and the infinite variety of forms they can take.
How it all started
As a young man, Shawn finds himself interested in helping his parents with their business, building custom homes in the Chester County area. While working on these job sites, Shawn is fascinated by the Amish carpenters and their craftsmanship. As a result, he quickly learns the trade under their guidance. Later, after graduating high school, he decides to move to the suburbs of Paris to hone his craft by working as an apprentice for a French cabinetmaker.
Doing business since 2003
Upon returning to the U.S., Shawn founds his own custom woodworking company. Having the opportunity to work with many clients over the years allowed Shawn to explore the craft and fine tune his skills. Shawn enjoys working with homeowners, as well as architects and designers to create unique cabinetry and furniture built to last. Most importantly, he has a deep appreciation for the techniques and the masterful skills required for fine woodworking.
